Happy New Year 2015
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.
With Love at Christmas
Once upon a time there were two young people who were very much in love. Christmas was coming and they wanted to give each other a present. Sadly, they were both very poor and had no money for presents. So, each one, without telling the other decided to sell their most precious possession.
Just occasionally, isn’t it nice to get a lovely surprise? This happened to me today when the postman knocked at my door at 9.00 a.m. and presented me with a rather large package. For a moment I was trying to remember which Christmas present I had arranged to be delivered to home, as most have come in continuous relay to work.
Blue Christmas Service
Christmas can be a very difficult and painful time for some people. The adverts on both television and radio constantly tell us about the happiness of the season and about getting together with family and friends. For some this may be a reminder of what they have lost, or what they may have never had.
Thinking beyond the obvious
It is interesting to see that The “Baby Boomer” generation, who reinvented youth culture in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s are now dispersing with the bleak and sombre affairs that funerals used to be, and instead prefer “A Celebration of Life”, with colourful clothing and coffins that reflect the life of the person who has died.
